This is a cozy apartment, only a few meters away from the quai by the river “La Seine”, and only 5 minutes walking distance to Notre Dame.
The buiding is on rue de Pontoise, a very peaceful street with a nice restaurant (French cuisine) at the bottom of the building “Le Pointoise”. This is the Latin Quarter, with its quiet narow streets, open markets, quality food retailers, and of course the rich history from the time when Paris was called Lutetia, through the remains of the roman arena “arênes de Lutèces” (1st century AD, this amphitheater is considered the longest of its kind constructed by the Romans) on rue Monge or the Terms of Cluny by Blvd Saint Michel. Later on (Middle age) it’s the presence of many churches and convent in the neighborhood which reminds us of the strong christian current. In terms of access to department stores for groceries, you will have access to a “Franprix” only 5 minutes walking distance from the apartment, on rue de Poissy (next block), where you will find also the former convent of Bernardins.
This apartment is over 50 SqMt, 538 SqFt, with one bedroom, a long living room and dining area, an kitchen, a private office space, and a bathroom….It’s exceptionally bright (5th floor -6th floor american standard) and you can admire the Parisian skyline and admire the Pantheon’s dome as well. The furnitures are antique and there is a strong bohemian style design. This apartment has a lot of charm (the owner is an artist) thanks to its original tile floor, wooden furnitures and many beautiful prints and sculptures as part of the decoration. There is couch bed in the living room (which can be folded out and sufficient chairs to sit a party of 4. The bedroom separated from the living room by the office, has a single bed (which may host up to 2 people) and has exposure towards an internal court, very peaceful. There are a few shelves with books about art and history available as well.
The kitchen is an old traditional kitchen with a microwave, electrical plates, coffee machine and sufficient cutlery. In the bathroom there is a sink, a bath tub/shower plus a toilet, and a hair dryer. A washing machine and dryer are not available but a lavatory is available in the neighborhood. There is a WiFi internet connection, and TV.
