This apartment could not be in a better position in the Marais, just near the rue Rambuteau and its many Parisian shops: butcher, bakeries, cheese shop, fresh fish, as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, and caterers. Bistros and cafés also dote every corner, with terraces full of fashionable Parisians, watching fashionable Parisians pass by. For the shopper looking for unique cloths, many young creators have chosen the Marais for their boutiques.
Antique shops, design, art galleries, good and unique restaurants as well as an assortment of any kind of boutique desired are also easily found.
For the sight-seer, this area is the center and the oldest part of Paris, and contains many of its museums, and historic sites, including the Place des Vosges, as well as being just next door to the Centre Georges Pompidou “Beaubourg”, Place de l’hôtel de Ville, Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers, and the Place de la République. Within 10 minutes walking distance to the South, you are in Saint Germain des Prés area – Saint Michel, located on the left bank of the Seine river.
For those not familiar with the Marais, it is important to point out how safe the area is, near hospitals, police and with many resident doctors, as well as pharmacies on every corner.
Once having pushed the 17th century door of the main building on the street, the eye is surprised by another world, hidden from and frozen in time, where a quant little early 19th-century building nestles in a calm, quiet 18th-century cobblestone courtyard. The building on the street as well as the building itself are equipped with security codes, though hardly necessary in the safe Marais.
As soon as you enter this chic and simple apartment, you are greeted by a fully equipped Kitchen, with exposed beams separating it from the living area, lending to the American kitchen style, with more privacy. The kitchen has an oven, microwave, electric burners, extractor hood, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, all kitchen utensils, built in cabints, and a lovely tile floor to complete the rustic feel with the exposed beams.
The living room is functional and chic, not a meter lost, with a bright window and decorative black marble fireplace crowned with a 19th century mirror. It is tastefully decorated in moot colors, browns and blacks but with white walls to permit light, and the old wood beams have been exposed in the ceiling. The furnishings are simple and design, with a two-person sofa, fold-out dining table, 4 chairs, end and coffee tables, cabled flat-screen television, eclectic wall hangings and a small buffet full of dishes.
Both bedrooms being about the same size, a master bedroom is not pertinent. Both bedrooms have a lovely bright window and white walls, but bordeau taffeta curtains to keep out light for the late sleeper, tables, lamps and plenty of space in the armoires.
The bathroom is bright and clean, comfortable for the occupants of the apartment, with simple white tile, a bathtub with shower head, sink, a cabinet and storage space, as well as the washer/dryer combo.
